In its wrongful death claim against Gold Club, an exotic dancing establishment, the family of Ashley Hollyfield claims that the club encouraged its employees to drink alcohol on the job as a way to increase profits. According to the lawsuit, the club continued to provide Ms. Hollyfield with alcoholic beverages after she was clearly intoxicated, and later allowed her to drive home under the influence of alcohol.

In legal terms, a "wrongful death" occurs when someone is killed as a result of the misconduct or negligence of another person or entity. This may occur under many different circumstances, including but not limited to the following situations:
